Het Kompas & The Scotch Whisky Bar

The Highlighy of our Texel trip was by far our dinner at “Het Kompas”! The hosts are just lovely, and serve the most authentic home-cooked dishes found on the island. Paired with an athmosphere that throws you back in time where everything fits, from ornamentation to furnishing to crockery to the music, makes for a special night. This is one we will be looking to return to when we get the chance.

Went to try some of their whiskey collection and it is one if the most vast I have laid eyes on. Was pleasantly surprised by how varied and delicious the Texel whiskies were as well! Would recommenda visit!!!

I felt very uncfortable on this place. We came to Texel late and wanted just to eat something small and drink a glass of wine. The first question we got after entering was if we have money and if we do realize the price. After the conformation we were allowed to read the menu and then we were kicked out, because we didnt want to order the 3 course menu with bottle of wine, but just one meal and a glass of wine. This behavior gives me a feeling that customer is not very welcome here. Honestly, it made me feel we are not good enough to eat there, and thats very rude.

Great place if you want to know anything about whiskey Willem is your man. Great company and a fantastic whiskey collection, food looks amazing to but we did not eat there.

Greatest whisky selection in the Netherlands. Exquisite cuisine.
