An unfortunately well hidden gem. We found it somewhat by chance and payed a visit, which was well worth it! For a small fee you gain entrance to a museum showing the rich history of mainly farming on the island. There are plenty of things to touch and feel, for example flax in all its stages of processing. The museum has a small staff which are friendly, willing to help and share stories from their wide knowledge of the island and its history.
Lovely museum about the local life in historic setting, spent 2h here with the kids, lots of interactive exhibits, friendly curators. Try the local apple pie ice cream to top off a perfect outing!
This museum is closed till 27 February 2024, so save yourself the trip.
Very gracious people, good tea and a peaceful place to visit.
Very Interesting!
